Known as a strategic operative, Shekar Natarajan is a driver of innovative growth and change. His business savvy, strong competitive and disciplined leadership comes from his ability to make pioneering decisions, and experience gained by leading three of world’s largest brand companies – Anheuser Busch InBev, PepsiCo, CocaCola – through major business transformations.

Shekar is considered by his industry friends and colleagues as a “leader of leaders” and is known for his common sense approach to simplifying work. His commitment to advancing business has led to developing more than ten best practice processes, which have become industry standards or recognized methods worldwide.

Currently, Shekar is a Senior Director of Supply Chain Planning at Anheuser Busch, where he was recruited to join their executive team. In this role, he has end-to-end responsibility, from raw material to final product delivery. Shekar masterminded a futuristic supply chain blueprint built on the foundation of People, Process and Technology. His efforts led to a world-renowned and industry recognized planning, commercialization, innovation that raised the bar and created unique competitive advantages. These systematically planned initiatives reversed budgetary losses, improved cost/profits, and enabled top-line growth.

In a prior position at PepsiCo, Shekar was the Director of Supply Chain where he transformed the logistics network to a value center. His inherent technology vision coupled with his change management skills resulted in CPG’s first automated storage/retrieval system of automated picking. The intelligent information systems shaped the physical flow of products, which transformed costs and revolutionized go-to-market activities. He masterfully architected transformation of several legacy systems that won him Consumer Goods Technology “Visionary Award” and his team the “Supply Chain Innovation Award” from CSCMP. He led the game-changing merger of PepsiCo portfolio of beverages – Pepsi, Tropicana, Gatorade – that provided a single voice to the customer. The synergizing efforts were concluded in only 90 days (likened to flying an aircraft and making modifications mid-air!).

Shekar’s visionary expertise emanated early in his career at CocaCola where his innovative strategy and energizing leadership propelled significant cost savings and benefits. He changed how CocaCola delivered to its customer by developing and patenting a delivery system, now an industry standard. Recognized for brilliance in pioneering leadership, Shekar received more than 15 awards worldwide. Notable among them are “Logistics Rainmaker,” Institute of Industrial Engineers’ “Medallion Award (only 20 awarded in 60 years), Consumer Goods “Technology Visionary,” honorary awards from Brazilian Industry Ministry and Singapore Press for industry contributions.

Shekar presented keynote speeches at major international business, supply chain, and logistics conferences in North America, Latin America, Asia, Australia, and Europe where he shared his broad knowledge and innovative concepts. He is a prolific writer in the field of Supply Chain Management and is co-author of 3 books – Systematic Planning Methods, Systematic Network Planning, Warehouse and Space Optimization. Currently, he is authoring books on Talent, Understanding the Contradictions in Business Metrics. He authored more than 40 articles on a host of topics, and is a sought after ‘thought leader’ on world-renowned panels and media outlets.

Shekar serves on the Board for several for-profit, non-profit organizations, and humanitarian societies. He is on the Advisory Board of leading supply chain media and trade magazines both domestically and internationally. Shekar plays an advisory role for National Security and Resilience Strategy for Global Supply Chain for the White House.

Shekar earned a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from JNTU. His pursuit for continuous education resulted in PMP/PMI; CFPIM, CSCP/APICS; Master Six Sigma Black Belt/ASQ; Certified Logistics Professional; Executive Certificate of Supply Chain Management/MIT.
